The Monster is Still around

I have been told not to keep starting my entries with " Well it's been" so I am trying!!!! This week we had another full house with a couple of new visitors as well. Mrs J is still knitting her bags and as you can see there is a nice variety. Unfortunately she didn't bring the black one but has said she will next week for another photo opportunity. The green and red bag in the photo was once a sweater of her poor hubbies. TJ thought it would serve a better purpose as a felted bag for her own use. He let her felt it when she promised to lay off the buttons for a couple of weeks. TJ has another obsession buttons. She has made belts, necklaces and adorned numerous tops with them. It is the one hobby her other half has said NO MORE to. LP is still knitting her lilac cardi although she has finished her baby bits. AE is knitting a scarf and still doing her fench knitting. She also brought along a scrapbook she had made for her mother. It had great colour schemes and she had added buttons to odd pages for a great touch. LM is still crocheting her squares . New member S was learning to crochet from her friend other new member JC who was crocheting a shrug in Kidsilk Haze and knitting a dress from Rowan Studio One in 4 ply soft. RB was still on her cushion. LB is knitting for her grandchildren. PW was on another cardi. PB is still on her emerald green mohair sweater. L was knitting a sweater. B was knitting pink socks and had knitted a three coloured bag in eyelash yarn. Our Aussie J was sewing up her cable sweater and I was knitting my Embrace bag from Felted Collection in Scottish Tweed Chunky instead of the Kid Classic it asks for. I think it's going to be larger than I wanted but we shall see. Here is the pre felting bag. The phone holder is a guide for sizing.

We've created a monster

Well where does one begin? Miss January has finished and was wearing her scarf and started on a cushion cover for her sofa. LM brought loads of Gedifra books back from her trip to Austria and was doing some more free form crochet mixing the colours amazingly well as she always does. LP was knitting the most adorable baby sweater in blue stripes, whilst PB has finished her cable sweater and is now knitting an emerald green Mohair sweater. AE was brought some patchwork squares she'd made and was knitting her collinette. LJ is trying to recreate a Debbie Bliss Cravate in Noro. PW is knitting the bands of her lilac cardi and I am still knitting the back of Marsh from Tapestry Collection in stripes of Cashsoft DK . It's such a shock to go to DK after so many thicker yarns. Our TJ has been knitting like a maniac. We have most definitely created a monster even her hubby says so!!!. Since she saw the Clack knitting bag felted she has been wanting to try some bags. She bought a Colinette kit advertised in Simply Knitting and wasn;t sure about it knitted up so we told her she could felt it. She'd bought some bag patterns also to the previous meeting and we read through them and she was going to possibly try one after she'd finished her collinette bag which was to become her knitting bag. Well.... she arrived and had felted the bag and it is gorgeous I love the colourways and the way it felted ( pics to follow in 2 weeks). She has also finshed the back and one of the fronts of her cardigan from Knit2together in Cashsoft DK and has made THE MOST AMAZING felted bag from one of the patterns she bought. It black and she has put a feather trim all around the edge and you would not know this was handknitted. She has also knitted a scarf in some Palette Yarn, started another in a Fizz type yarn and found time to dress and personalise some teddies. All this in just 2 weeks. Normally it's LM who wows us with loads of stuff so she had some teasing about competition from TJ.
Books we were looking at this week were: Rowan 41 , Loads of Gedifra Books, first four issues of Aussie mag Yarn , a Japenese knitted toy book ( we couldn't read the instructions but pictures were clear) Knit2Together and The Stitch n Bitch Journal
